 Sounds terrible, but I have a classic case of allergy to wasp venom, confirmed by allergy tests. I should have gone to hospital straight away after the bite, but noooo.... And unfortunately the venom was released gradually over several hours, because a piece of the stinger remained in the skin. 
 That may have been a Honeybee. Honeybees are the only insect I know of that leaves a stinger.  
 Problem is I think I squeezed it between fingers, so not only stinger was there but some part of body too 🤣
