At the upcoming @Adopting Bitcoin Cape Town Conference, we will consider a proposal and (potentially) help fund the establishment of a new #Bitcoin Circular Economy project in South Africa. Something much like Bitcoin Beach and our own project, Bitcoin Ekasi. However, it'll be different in that #Bitcoin AND #Nostr will serve as its foundational cornerstones. If succesfull, the announcement will be made at the conference and soon after, on here. Stay tuned.

How are you coping with the power outages in SA? I hear places have 6 to 12 hours no electricity and no cell connection, you couldn't even send Bitcoin via an SMS service.
Yeah, sometimes up to 6-8 hours a day, rarely more than that, but it happens that it goes up to 12 hours a day. 2-4 hours is pretty normal, but overall it comes and goes. Some weeks there's no power cuts at all. Other weeks it can be hectic. People make a plan. Generally cell phone reception stays on. So if you have a decent powerbank for the phone, you can manage.
At least you get text messages with the schedule of the load shedding. Here in Zimbabwe we never know, if, when or how long there is no electricity.
You can even download an app, that tells you when power goes on and off. And the app's name is as rude as it is hilarious 😂 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love it! 🔥🔥🔥
