 i went to bitcoin atlantis for one day, i didn't get how anyone wanted to be there for two more

i wanted to get back home and do my things and stop slacking since nobody was paying my costs

i think in the end i got a good discount due to coincorner's "free" sats card which i have sitting somewhere idle because fuck KYC

i only regret not buying more merch at the shop with the southern asian lady, the rest of the show, was cool to see stevie and for the first time IRL see the Lyn Alden but i already knew gigi and andre loja and coddywompler so yeah

i do mean to get over to the south side again in the near future but i'm busy 

 Atlantis wasn't just a Bitcoin conference.  it was a #buildr event.  the videos from there on nostr were solid 

 it was expensive for me to travel to, and i am busy, and nobody knew who i was who cared to know about the stupid golang dev on the north side who was getting paid by a subcontractor to build a thing for shitcoiners, even though it was about luring theem stupids in to maybe learning something 

 i'm an obsessed pleb in spirit who has never attended a corn conference.  i'm not doxxing myself 

 It's a mixed bag IMO but I generally agree with that is most cases.

I personally enjoy socializing with people with a common interest, but introversion is fairly common amongst Bitcoiners. It's great to be able to talk to people IRL when they actually get it. 
There's also a smaller part of me that hopes more generosity will come my way at some point so I can spend more time creating rather than working for fiat so much. It's not ideal, but it's true. I appreciate the help I've received so far that has allowed me to mostly break even with my side project of Sovereign Craft. 

 I hope you're coming to Bitcoin 2024 Nashville anyway.  It would be good to hang with ya again.

 I guess if you have a product or service you want to promote it helps and helps having end users around, but yeah for the most part you're better off stacking the sats

Conferences are like Twitter. Everyone is trying to shout "Look at me!" louder than their peers. 

 Point taken, I think the scale and ROI is what makes the conference attractive, you spend X your reach is Y since its a collaborative effort of marketing for it and on the day, with meetups its a constant churn

 Think of them like a concert. You know all the songs (talks) but enjoy listening to them live with likeminded people. That’s all it is. Hackathon events are more productive. 

 You assume I go to conference to listen to circle jerks. I go to conferences for private conversations with other plebs and to build relationships with those from other parts of the world. Also for beefsteak. The only conferences worth buying tickets for are BTC++ and tabconf because they at least have educational content. Everything else, lobby con, beefsteak, and secret pleb meetings.
