Until you can buy your groceries, fuel and utilities in Bitcoin (not via a licensed fiat exchange service) it is not permissionless . If the only thing you can buy with bitcoin directly is drugs and illegal goods its not money, and its not useful for society, and its absolutely not permissionless.
If you can easily convert BTC to local fiat cash in a p2p way it is permissionless. I can do exactly that at my local meetup (not that I would be selling).
Thats great, except cash is being gotten rid of, esp in the UK. Some places don't even except cash, this is a fast growing trend. So if you want to spend bitcoins you are left exchanging it for digital money, and that requires permission from your bank to fund your account from an exchange whether P2P or centralized..

Well said. Financial freedom and wealth are not necessarily the same thing. If any of you needed signal where this train is headed, the Fed essentially capitulated to fiscal dominance yesterday. They will spend and print, debt and inflation will continue to run hot, and assuming you even manage to keep up, the fruits of your labor will continue to be debased. Yes, Bitcoin might seem pricey at these levels, but you get what you pay for. We're staring at the splash page of the next chapter of the global financial system, and this story has elements of choose your own adventure to it. Make smart choices.
