I meant to make an anniversary post on the 13th when I registered this domain, but I forgot, so I'll do it now. The Shitpost Cloud is officially one year old, which means by Fediverse instance standards it is extremely elderly and liable to keel over from a stroke at any moment. I'm proud that the cloud has somehow made it this far, despite the fact that I truly do not know what the fuck I am doing. I originally expected I would be the only one posting here, but I'm quite pleased by the small community of interesting spergs who have made this place their home, and I have come to enjoy their company greatly. To date I have not had a user join who makes posts that I would be ashamed to see carry the Shitpost Cloud name (except maybe Kensortium, but he keeps to himself), and thanks to that it's been a breeze to janny the place. You guys have been great, and this year I intend to take the technical side of things more seriously, because I'd hate to see what we've built here go down in flames like so many other instances. I still don't entirely understand why I have become such a prolific poster on Fedi. I never felt compelled to post like this on Twitter. For some reason, this place is different. Maybe it's the extremely autistic drama, maybe it's th-lmao fuck it, of course that's why. Mystery solved. But for real, I think part of it is that, and part of it is how much I enjoy saying anything and everything on a small digital island that is mine, where I am accountable to no other trannies, lizardmen, or 100-page TOS that all seem to take issue with naughty text on a screen. People who don't like me have to deal with it the way things online used to be and always should've been: by muting my heckin' problematic words on their end and getting on with their lives. Anyway, I can tell the stimmies are beginning to kick in and make this post rambly, so I'll wrap it up here. Thanks for everything, my friends.
