I can appreciate that sentiment. I usually agree.

But realistically the industry has regulation, will have further regulation and Trump has an uncanny way of drawing attention to things.

Because of trump, we now know about ivermecti, hydroxychloroquine, the nefarious Dr. Fauci, the corrupt DNC, the corrupt RNC, we know that peace in the Middle East is possible.

We know that a declining standard of life is not necessary.

His latest feat, is "Haitians eating The cats". Hilarious to say in a debate, and upon further investigation, is in fact true.

Because of trump, we also know the extent of censorship and the reality of a deep state. We learned about JFK, the corrupt FBI, the corrupt intelligence community as a whole, the severity of the border security decline, and child sex trafficking...

It looks like his next project is to expose shitcoinery.

Respect your opinion my friend, but on this one, it's a hard disagree. Shitcoins are about to have a spotlight on it that it's never seen before and that is definitely something to celebrate.
I get where you're coming from on that whole thing, but I'd point out one difference: all of the bad items you listed (to the extent that they're real) are creatures of the State. and in my view are therefore worthy of ridicule and battle.
Ethereum, for all its warts, is an outgrowth of the cypherpunk movement; used and built by free individuals. Not some State project under the cozy umbrella of corruption and monopoly on violence. I'd prefer Ethereum and Bitcoin have a fair fight in the arena of human action, not with a thumb on the scale from political forces.
Agreed. Ethereum, has a role as a platform and is incredibly useful for all types of things. There are definitely projects that are interesting and could potentially be very useful.

The minting of coins, however, and the sale of ico's are very clearly securities.

They are premined and then marketed to the public for the purpose of raising Capital for the company.

If you want to call them collectors items, then I guess there's a discussion there. Short of that, by definition, they're already illegal.
You understand Trump as I do. His tour in politics has been a giant exposure operation. He’s been the front man of The Great Awakening. I also think this is his way of exposing shitcoins.

As for ETH, I think Saife said it best. “ETH is the mother asshole from which all shitcoins sprang”.
