 The problem with them is that if you find yourself in a shooting war, that cooling system is fair game, then you have real problems... 

 Modern modular reactors don't have a cooling system per sae. The fuel is in a matrix which air or water is pumped though, if that fails that just get warm but dont "melt down" or reach a melting point. Which is pretty cool 😎
