A simple syntax for basic formatting of plain text which allows for 
- bolding
- italics
- underlining
- strikethrough
- section headers
- images
- links
- bulleted lists
- blockquotes
- tables

For example, surrounding text with asterisks would make it italicized, while two asterisks would be bolded.  Headers start on a new line prefixed with a number of # signs
