Wayyy too sweet. I don’t like dark chocolate on its own, but in cookies it supplies the perfect balance and contrast to the buttery sweet crunchy cookie part. White chocolate just makes everything too sweet and bland.
The macadamia nuts can offset the sweetness, though. That’s probably why they are included. I guess it does say something about dark chocolate chips that they need nothing but the cookie, while white chocolate chips need the most expensive nuts commonly available.
Ciao Bella used to have a matcha white chocolate that I bet you would have considered good.
I once (actually twice) had a saffron white chocolate that was wonderful. Saffron is too delicate a flavor for cocoa mass. So saffron + white chocolate = good. But that's not what's on offer, especially in that Aldi box. Just plain straight-up nasty sugary white chocolate.
