In Human societies it is quite normal -- even expected -- that any and all opposition to the ruling elite be prosecuted and found guilty.  The crimes, if they even exist, do not matter.  What matters to Humans is that the spectacle of a working judicial system be upheld so that the ruling elite are never prosecuted, never found guilty, of the actual crimes they did and continue to commit 👀 

 Criminals make good rulers.
