You don't need a separate computer or a lot of space to run a bitcoin node.

You can install Bitcoin core on your day to day computer/laptop and prune it to only take up a few GB.

This allows you to broadcast transactions to the chain without relying on someone else's node.

Please do this if you don't already.
 🤔
Or drop old man bitcoin and run an #ergo node on your phone :)
 said no one, ever.
IMO you can't really call yourself a bitcoiner until you do this.

 I can try this 👍🏼⚡️⚡️
 Thanks for the info.

I have few questions.

Can we run a lightning node on a pruned Bitcoin Core Node?

And one more question, Can I run Lightning node on my MacOS without using umbrel or any OS, are there any CLI/GUI interfaces through which I can run a LIGHTNING node?
for validation, sure. But broadcast from your own ip is making links you may not want
Been running Bitcoin core unpruned from home server for sometime now and restricted to using TOR only.

Also, I have a lightning node, SANJOSE_UBETCHA instance running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. If this wasn't a free-forever service, from a cost prospective it wouldn't make financial sense to run a lightning node.
It makes financial sense to spend some money to have private, non ruggable payments at no cost per txn.

People pay for bank accounts afterall
True but kinda selfish of you 😁
I've got a dedicated hard disk for this on my work pc
The UTXO set is huge and the CPU and memory consumption is enormous. I gave up because it was causing me all kinds of trouble. We need smaller blocks.
Do you have a simple ‚todo list‘ to start mining/ investing in #bitcoin + what you have to buy for an easy and safe setup - for freshly orangen-pilled ones?
Because of arch, try on windows 😂
Pruned nodes are useful. I run both. I've run a pruned #node on my phone for years. But #pruned nodes vs full nodes miss the point.

The point is that #Bitcoin is a #P2P (person to person) system.

Meaning... my node communicates directly with your node to transact and store value.

No #middlemen. No #intermediaries. No #miners, #developers. No #rockstars, #celebrities, #gurus #cults of personality. #Politics or #religion. Just #purity, supported by #virtue.

This is what makes Bitcoin unique. This is what makes Bitcoin highly valuable, powerful and AWESOME!

I don't have to rely on some greed driven jackass middle man to hold or use MY! money.

We're going through a phase where people are trying to rationalize dumping all kinds of garbage into the blockchain to increase fees.

They want to recreate the money printing disaster that necessitated the creation of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin's security and greatness is based on the fact that almost anyone who wants to can run a full node and be completely sovereign over their money.

Sovereign under a monetary policy with a limited supply and extremely low or no #transaction #fees. No fees that would devalue your Bitcoin, tax your ability to use it, or add inflation to your Bitcoin by proxy.

If we can't limit Bitcoin transactions to legitimate Bitcoin financial transactions only. Then we need to #suspend all transaction fees until we get close to the end of the #block #rewards.

It's not in the interest of Bitcoin owners, users and supporters to continue to allow the blockchain abuse being committed. Abuse that artificially and fraudulently inflates transaction fees.

The miners job is to earn the block reward. Not trash the blockchain. Or rip-off the owners and users of Bitcoin. It's going to stop. One way or another.
 less secure though
 Oh get it
