The point of a constitutional republic was supposed to be to remove most aspects of life from any govt or "democratic" influence. Unfortunately such limitations seem to be short lived. Hopefully distributed systems like Bitcoin can resist any sort of changes by way of "public opinion" or arbitrary authority.

Social progressivism is generally antithetical to any sort of limited govt & is the ideology promoted by wannabe slave owners to get people to support the policies, & expansion of govt power, that will result in their own enslavement.
