@a4e385b2 Carrots! I grow them, originally for the pet rabbits indoors, but now the outside (native) bunnies snack on them too. Used to lose them to gophers, but the dog has been doing a stellar job eliminating that threat. 

 @cc2fdf26 We have a pack of coyotes on the other side of the fence and a big fluffy yard skunk (😬) so hopefully between them all, the rats won't take over.
