I think the problem is if a dev wants to live of it's app, that requires a constant stream of income, like a subscription model and I don't think that works very in a bitcoin model. I'm more inclined to a one time payment for the dev work and that's it.  

 Subscription model will work well when there will be million active daily users on #nostr
