Sudo is enough for the most cases though.

 The only time I've used root was to set up new users on our project's remote server, and then I gave  @finrod root access and backed away, slowly.

 Yes that's a case for root. 
Now it's relax on sudo time. Better still a live usb for surfing. Vm also
