HONEST QUESTION:
What the heck do you need KYC usdc for??
You can just use the dollar. There is no advantage to using USDC through exchanges or otherwise. I can use cash app, Venmo, zell, visa, mc, etc...
USDC is centralized and captured, so what is the point?
Trading
Why not just use dollars? Coinbase has dollars/cash you can trade in and out of.
Maybe to pay bills end of month
Umm, ok? Just pay in dollars from a bank account like 99% of people. Centralized USDC has no value in any way.
Not everyone can even if they wanted. Even in the US.
As far as I know, everyone who has a coinbase account can in the US.
if ur trading shitcoins it makes sense to have a dollar pegged shitcoin to swap into for capital you dknt want to degen at the moment ( full disclaimer ive never used usdc)
Interesting.
I just don't see the point, when you can just go on and out of shitcoins using the dollar/cash.
its a good question, and i think the answer lies in when you add dollars to coinbase, there is like10 days seasoning before you can withdraw it back out. so if you swap into usdc instead of withdrawing, you dont have to wait for it to season in your bank, then deposit it back into coinbase. its a tool for people that trade shitcoins within an exchange like Coinbase's ecosystem that dont want to deal with delays relating to pegging in and out of fiat.
Hmm. interesting. But you always have to wait to peg out back to dollars . So why not just trade via their US dollar pair?
cross border, instant payments
not really, no. coinbase follows ofac compliance for all payments. you can't for instance purchase goods in Iran using coinbase USDC.
