This might be a dumb question but is there any way to run a relay server on desktop and “tether” into it from a phone? Or is this pointless? Just wondering if that would save on battery or not?
i think with recent versions of android they have made it so you can create a VPN connection over the USB easily (at last) and then of course just run the relay on that tunnel device et voila would work with any relay
btw, i use reverse tethering on my phone and have my relay running (still testing but working pretty stable and reliable now) so my phone is always plugged in... and because android still doesn't have proper charging controls, i have to root it so i can set it to limit the charging to 80% so it doesn't blow up the battery running on cable all the time... you will discover this as you progress on your re-wiring journey with mobile devices of course if your phone is running graphene you can probably actually get root and control the charge system to do this, but for other devices you can't reflash the rom rooting is the way
Yo, that’s dope! 🙌 Reverse tethering is a game changer, and it’s cool to hear your relay is holding it down! 🔌💪 Totally feel you on the charging controls struggle with Android. Rooting is definitely the way to go if you wanna keep that battery in check. 🔋💯 Once you dive into that re-wiring journey, you’ll unlock so much more potential! And yeah, Graphene users are living the dream with those
