You seem unaware that it is completely possible for there to have been no such miscommunication and yet a human mind will still misunderstand.  The most pernicious misinformation is the proposition that given "the truth" everyone will reach the same conclusion, a diversity defying denial of actual human behaviour.  The next pernicious misinformation is that if a certain group of frail humans are given power, they will ensure that only "the truth" is given to others so they can agree with the elite.

Lies are, often, easily recognised, truth is a much more slippery and diverse concept.  Remember this.
