#Google is trying again to convince you, YES YOU, to contribute for free to Google Maps.
Please don't.
It is 100% #proprietary, Google has full control over the data you added and people can only access Google Maps over proprietary channels where Google dictates the rules. This gives them too much power.

Contribute to #OpenStreetMap instead, it's a project by the community, for the community.

@7b1da1d5 OMG. This latest update forced ad tracking, which I disabled. Then, in the photos app, useful tools like crop and resize were removed and offered as an in app purchase

Fuck Google.
@7b1da1d5 #OpenStreetMap is great but there is no way to submit reviews as there is on #googlemaps . Reviews submitted on Google maps are siloed.
@7b1da1d5 For those who want to add POI information to #OpenStreetMap without to much hassle, try https://mapcomplete.org

The #FOSS #Android app, #StreetComplete is one fabulous, quick and easy way to contribute to #OpenStreetMap.

It shows you on a map a bunch of pins which you tap on to bring up a question you can answer in just a few clicks and bam! Improvement uploaded.

Examples might be "Is there a bike lane here?" or "What street number is this house?"

It also gives you awards for achieving a number of contributions in different categories to make it fun.

I "Bob"-damn love this app!
@7b1da1d5 There ia nothing wrong about capitalism, but you contribute for free to their private databases, and they keep all profits.

That's not fair.

Corporations are mostly evil overall
I already did. There is an app that lets you easily edit the map, really handy. I also use organic maps for most of the time.
