Good morning nostr, gonna be a busy Monday here on the homestead. I've got indoor and outdoor projects to work on, but its rainy this morning so I may have to do more inside stuff. But of course, the animals still have to be fed and cared for.
Question for any users of Linux desktop and Graphene phone: What is an easy to use app that I can use as a main Contacts list? I want to be able to transfer all of my contact info, including physical addresses, from phone to latop, and vice versa. Currently I simly backup my phone periodically onto usb. I dont use google or any cloud service currently. Oh, and it needs to be printable into readable form, so I can have a physical copy also. This is a must. I looked at Nextcloud briefly, and that might be what i will try. But is there something better, easier, specific to contacts?
Hope yall have a great day nostr friends, enjoy your coffee, and do your work with a happy heart. #coffeechain #grownostr #countrylife #farmlife #homesteading

I admire your set up there, especially when you said you’re not super techy. I love all the sharing happening, it definitely helps me get a better idea of what I need to do on this side 😁
Thanks, and i really am not super techy. But several years ago i determined to stop using windows or apple for my laptop. I started watching lots of vids. on how to convert a windows laptop to linux. It was a learning curve at first, but i have never looked back and would never go back. A great side benefit is when i need/want a "new" laptop i just buy an old Lenovo Thinkpad, wipe Windows off, install Linux. $200-300 versus $1,000 or more for the latest Mac or Windows.
It’s brilliant! I use Ubuntu but I’m also not super techy myself and am always looking to learn more. 💜
Good morning. I personally switched to WebDAV for my contacts, calendar, and tasks. But whatever I did, there is probably a more user friendly route.
I run radicale on my home server, set up login credentials, and made it accessible through my personal domain.

On my phone, I run DAVx5 from fdroid to sync with the server.

@jay if one doesn't run their own server, does your option work?
Someone in NOSTR mentioned syncthing and I was interested in learning more about that. I don't run my own server and am not super technical. I don't have the time to be constantly tinkering with tech, so looking for an boomer friendly solution. 🙏

Thanks Jay, i dont run my own server either. What @Lois 🧘♀️🫖✨🙏 said.
Good morning! ☀️❤️🔥🧘♂️🌬️✌️
I hope the outside weather improves permitting you to tend to your animals easier.

Good morning! I think Nextcloud is your best bet, given your requirements 🐶🐾🫂☕️💪🏻🚀
Gm. ☕️🤙
Also NextCloud is my vote -
- it’s the easiest solution that provides many flex options.
GM, if I haven’t said it before … I dig that mug ☕️
Thanks, my favorite mug broke, so its this one for now.😊
I run Linux mint and graphene os. I have joplin on both, no cloud but can transfer notes between devices. Could just make a libre office document as well
Oh, thats sounds good. Need to check it out.
@k3tan probably has the best advice
