@thebtcco was reading your privacy policy. under what circumstances do you need to collect information about software programs and browsing history on a user's device?

They would probably wanna know the lot as employers.
Maybe they can provide the revolution for the purpose for that penny.
Ha no idea! Our FE person who helped us build this isn’t Jane Lo from sunny SF lol. Will look into this 🤔
lol cool cool. i've built many websites. it's likely just a placeholder image that hasn't been updated yet 🤙🏻
I saw your other post and that's exactly why TBC was a no go for me

I use bitrefill with breez is no kyc and easy
 We love the adversarial thinking!

Although you can mirror this same setup with the TBC web app. No KYC needed and you can maintain pseudonymity using LNAuth or Auth47 (PayNym).

Rather than repeat explanations here though, there's a couple of relevant posts shared below:

Great to know and i will try it out

It seems @thebtcco has some stuff to explain

Uninstalling until they provide further information

A footnote, or expansion would help here. For example, whether specific plugins are installed, and the order and actions performed to navigate for diagnostic purposes.
 None.

In practice, we actually don’t collect this data.

You can use us anonymously with a variety of login methods not attached to identity (lightning / btc / email / even API).

We do a static check of IP for sanctions related purposes but don’t store that data.

If you pay with credit card (in lieu of bitcoin), we do collect a few other device metrics for fraud prevention reasons.

This privacy policy was written a few years ago by some expensive lawyers who I think prioritized protecting us from every angle rather than simply stating what we do and don’t do.

They should be rewritten more clearly and accurately, and they will be… but frankly, all this is very expensive. We’re small and we dedicate our resources to working capital and building new products… ideally not paying more for lawyers.

Everyone on our team cares deeply about privacy, often to the detriment of our bottom line. Our public facing policies should reflect this… but we’ve got a few more things to push out before we go back and change all these nice to have things from the past.

Hope that all makes sense.
i was hoping this was the case. in time, i agree with updating it, but 100% when bootstrapping a startup things have to be prioritized. i've gone all in on living the #satlife and happy to know i can use and promote your service. will be referring others to this post until a blogpost or something more official comes along where i can show clients and plebs that you both offer and value a privacy first approach to your services. thx again
We appreciate you understanding the nuance 💜

We want to support your goal of living off your sats! We've got a lot of users doing this already by using us as their main off-ramp.

We're interested to explore if there's any boosted rates we can offer you on cards you'd need regularly for living expenses. We can also set you up with a custom ref code and bonus referral rewards if you know others who can use our cards too.

Maybe check our range of brands and reach out if you're keen! You can browse our web app without signing up: https://app.thebitcoincompany.com/giftcard
