Did you know you can use Passport to generate, backup and export your Nostr keys effortlessly? 🔑

One user gave it a go and was blown away by the seamless flow with @Amethyst

Well, this is awesome. Is this effectively a “storage” function for your keys?

In other words, does it work as an “air gapped signer” in that you can (in this example) generate and store the keys exclusively on your passport device, and be able to use Amethyst to operate the nostr account without exposing the nsec to amethyst?

I’ve been looking for an excuse to pick up a Passport… so if the above is correct, I’m buying one today…
Do it. Passport UX is top tier, and getting better all the time.

However Passport key extension is currently limited to generating new nsec keys, I’m hoping for the ability to import existing keys in the future for safe storage.

Anytime 🤙🏻 I use mine quite a bit if you get questions
 Appreciate you!
 Thanks TK :)
 Gotta HOWTO link on that?
Hey- we have some documentation here under the key manager section, hope that helps :)

 This is awesome.
Would seem to me that generating key in foundation then importing into Amber would be the more secure second step. That way Amber is the only app that had the nsec. This is awesome for generating nsec offline.
Bingo, this is what I do.
Dumb question. What is Amber? How did one securely import the nsec?
Nevermind, I figured it out. In case anyone else is interested: https://github.com/greenart7c3/amber

uhhhh bad idea to post this qr code. qr codes have error correction so may be recovered with partial information.
 That’s what I was thinking.
Not going to correct out of that scribbling
maybe not with standard tools, and maybe not in this particular case, but its just a bad idea to post stuff like this. expect more opsec from a wallet manufacturer.

Is there a video / tutorial for this anywhere?
