 I understand wanting to see McCarthy booted. Fine. He’s gone. He deserved his fate. So did his party. They embraced and caved to these lunatics. 

I don’t think anyone should be celebrating though. This country is FUBAR.

Yes, our situation is not at all optimal, but it's important to remember that we've had worse situations in our government in our long history that we've surmounted.

I know you're a serious person. And I think you'd agree there is a good chance things can get even more stupid than they already are, in the US House of Representatives.

But I'm not at all disturbed at Mr. McCarthy losing his position. I'm happy with it: the man is an unprincipled liar, whose only interest is his own wealth & position. Good riddance.

It will be entertaining to see what the GQP establishes next as their "leadership". We're already in the dirt.

 @edc128e6 it's a sobering reminder - it took (16? can't recall) votes and a pile of under-the-table deals to just to get where we are. Whatever comes next isn't likely to be an improvement.
