Hey I’m starting a library on a couple of duplicate thumb drives of all of the self sufficiency skills, books and manuals that we will be lacking once internet access hinges on digital ID. Has anyone already made strides in this area and want to share resources? I’m just building the framework right now but I’m thinking about topics like:
- permaculture
- animal nutrition and veterinary skills
- herbal medicine
- first aid, trauma care and surgery
- improvised shooty things
- food preservation
- home/farm security
- solar and home power generation systems
- literature and books
- etc
Headings, or content in pdf or plain text format are welcomed. Thanks.
This is exactly what i have been wanting to do but haven't began yet.
I think it’s the kind of project that won’t be important for a while but then suddenly will be extremely important. I think we’re going to see a false flag cyber attack and a financial services hack this year that gets everybody peeing down their leg at not being able to purchase anything for a couple of weeks and then paving the way for a regulators to come in and write up a bunch of bullshit for our “safety“. Digital ID, tightly logged Internet access based on identification per session, etc.
Exactly. Cyber Polygon type of deal.
I just this past week built a similar library myself.
Kiwix.org is a great start: you can download all of Wikipedia, a bunch of disaster recovery manuals, Appropedia, etc in a few clicks.
I would be happy to discuss/collaborate more.
Libgen.is would be very helpful to locate resources.
The Encyclopedia of Country Living and other books my Carla Emery are great.
Awesome. Thanks! Now that my food preservation projects are nearly done for the year I really want to get down to this library project. Maybe I don’t have to reinvent the wheel. I’m thinking I might convert everything to plain text before adding it. Step 1 is going to be getting the framework/categories page built. It’s a challenge because of the old “you don’t know what you don’t know” conundrum. Thanks for reaching out!
