Another problem of giving up trades is that nobody has the tools to undertake them anymore. When my forefathers passed I inherited their tools many of which are over a century old and no longer understood or in production.
If I had lived in my mother's hometown, I think I would've asked my uncle to teach me carpentry. I wouldn't mind doing residential electrical work, either; I enjoyed working with my hands towards an end goal. There is no end goal in the office. That's half of the tedium. It crushes the spirit of the Aryan.
