So I’m assuming you see no value in future space exploration so the fact there is now a reusable rocket is unimportant. 
What you should be able to grasp is the importance of engineering and what they achieved today is catching a 250 ton, 22 story building plummeting at thousands of kilometers per hour decelerating to zero kilometers per hour on a dime. If you don’t see this as a game changer and absolute feat of engineering, I don’t know what to tell you.
