i updated my Ubuntu 24.04 Server (post-install) i3 installation script.. ..i dialed in the list of initially installed packages and services that could be removed/disabled prior to installing i3.. ..this includes removing snapd.. (using the Server edition helps keep this minimal)
..i still think vanilla Debian is better, but this would be a great option for easy access to Nvidia drivers and other extended hardware support that Ubuntu bakes into their versions of the Linux kernel..

gentoo makes nividia drivers easir than Debian lol
probably so.. ..source-based sounds fun if you have the extra time on your hands to compile
I do mostly binary packages on Gentoo, little compiling. It's the best of both worlds now
at some point i need to test Gentoo.. ..but Arch was a buzz-kill for rolling release distros for me.. ..tho i still kinda like openSUSE Tumbleweed (even if they are a horrible organization)
