 Does anyone I follow use Obsidian collaboratively?

I'm looking for an (ideally open source) knowledge management tool with two-way links/backlinks and, crucially, an easy way for many people to collaboratively edit it.

1. Are you expecting to not pay anything for server hosting?
2. How many people do you expect to be writing? How many of them have github accounts? 
3. Have you ever gotten that group, orna similar-sized group, writing before? The biggest challenge isn't technical.
