I don’t know what the percentage of tinkerers is between Americans and Brits, but I rode a lot in the 90’s, and there was a large community of enthusiasts and tinkerers (in Minneapolis). Triumphs, Nortons, BMW’s, Moto Guzzis, Ducatis, Harleys…many were vintage. I did a little tinkering myself, mostly Harley, Guzzi, and some old Japanese bikes. Rode all over the western US. Also glad I came out of it ok. While in London last year stopped by The Bike Shed. What a cool place. And the new Norton’s are beautiful (with a price tag to match). Don’t know if I’ll ever get back into it but those were some great times in my life.
