Twitter, like all big tech companies today, should be considered a surveillance company.

On Twitter, privacy expectations should be tempered by the reality of surveillance. While users can control some aspects of their account, the platform monitors content, interactions, and user data for various purposes.

The Nostr is much worse. Relays can harvest data and be sure, they won't inform you about that.
The difference is no real information is needed to create an account on nostr. Nostr is a protocol, and although relays need to collect some information, can you elaborate on what that information would be used for?

If a specific relay became known for unethical behavior, word would likely spread and users can remove that relay.

The code is also open source, unlike Twitter, so anyone that wants to see what is going on can do so.
