Love this — why not create a buy offer (or look for a CashApp sell offer) on @0a830eae? I think 5% is at the higher range of USD offers so you’d probably get an easy bite ⚡️🤙
I’m curious if nostr is a potential solution
Oh it’s gotta be. For example, there’s a new p2p corn stacking app that uses your phone contacts to create a sort of web of trust. I can’t imagine a world where they don’t integrate nostr soon, and use your nostr social graph for the same I’m blanking on the name but they’re here, hang on
Well this isn’t the one I was thinking of but @Mostro is nostr-based nostr:note1q6rmagn7ec6qtf7xy0zakgdcqsyq7t5h4nypfw00sewlzgzcv3csw2q0zu
Ah ha! It was Vexl. I’m still on their TestFlight, but I haven’t wanted to expose my phone contacts to a third party so I haven’t properly used it yet. I’d love to see @vexl interoperable with Nostr so that I could use it with my nostr contacts rather than hoping to find a bitcoin seller in a big list of normies 🤣
Hi! We would love to add Nostr support, but here’s the thing we are a small team of 5 people and a dog. The reputation model is what makes vexl so different and works. We encourage people to meet face to face and deal with cash as it’s the only way to leave no digital trace. Of course it’s possible to send bank transfers but that’s KYC lite and I don’t want my name in anyone’s bank account. So that’s why normies as you call them are perfect, they live in your neighborhoods, cities and towns, they are your friends, family, and friends of friends. It’s hard to meet your Nostr friends on a Tuesday afternoon when I live in Czech Republic and your live somewhere else. We certainly want to add Nostr but right now we gotta build the best app that makes it easy to buy bitcoin, eggs, honey, etc. This is why local communities are so important.
