So «The Elite» printed 40% of the total USD in 2 years. People without hard assets got totally broke, and those that managed to invest a bit in real estate and stocks will be hit with Capital Gains Tax on that. You’re giving money to the government because THEY printed money
You only pay capital gains tax when you sell, so f you didn't like most, your not paying. Plus there are many known loopholes to avoid paying the high cap gains rates.
But, the gains are (largely) not real. They are the result of inflation. You generally cannot buy more stuff with your assets after a couple of years. (except some lucky hits like early investors of bitcoin and tesla)
Everything mean reverts. I like saving in Bitcoin and making money in fiat to save with.
