How do you budget or plan to spend your money monthly?

Cash envelopes, software?

 Excel dawg
Expected some of this too. Do you track every expense or just get the rough outline?
Just allocate money for bills, stacking sats, other need categories like grocery and gas, and the rest goes to whatever my high time preference ass feels like buying this week. I try to keep it low time preference by spending on lawn maintenance home improvements, etc, but on occasion I'll eat out and buy stuff to have fun with too. It's a little over $100 a week I spend on whatever I want that's not specified in the budget.
I use everydollar app (been my go-to for years although I don't agree with Dave Ramsey on most stuff)
It's a cash envelope system in an app package.
I used something similar, YNAB. But sometimes it's more than I want to do.
Yeah that's a good one! More technical if I remember, but effective.
You pay for the premium version or is free good enough?
I've always just used free and it's been good for me. I like the manual process of adding transactions, I think it helps me be more mindful in making purchases.
 Me too! 🤩
Basic excel spreadsheet. They got some nice templates for you to use too.
Sinking accounts that auto transfer money from my main account - out of sight, out of mind. This makes sure everything that needs to be paid for the month gets paid.
Yeah I think this would be beneficial. I had basically a cash sinking fund that I would stuff money into. And you don't touch it.

You use something like Ally bank? Don't they let you categorize your money like this?
Exactly. I use Revolut and they allow what they call money pockets to be created, and I use those. They also allow you to set budgets based on categories. 👍🏻
I only have one budget plan. food, rent and the rest goes into Bitcoin. All of it, every month, no exceptions.

This is the response I expected out of most people.
 I remember my pre-married life too 😅
Yeah, I know inflation is worse now, but I made a lot less 10 years ago and had more money for stupid stuff!
Different life phases. We have far less disposable income, but due to using cheap money to build a home property we really love being at. I'd love to say inregret getting a pool last year but it makes hot days in south Texas amazing. Stuff like that and a family really eat up the extra cash. I still keep stacking and very much appreciate your philosophy.
