It looks like there was some sort of effort to make bluesky the Twitter Left's exodus from elon's twitter. (Not sure how (or even if) that happened, naturally or via influencers). But it seems to be defended along those lines and unwelcoming to anything outside of that - via shared mute lists and shouting(?). 

I think somewhere in that link is a mention of threads being more approachable by sitting somewhere centrist inside the political compass. And probably does well like that for a bit. Although Instagram is brutal for automated censorships, warnings and bannings. But maybe that is so well known now it's not a big deal.

But yeah I think you're right, I think people are fleeing Elon. If that's what you mean by the wrong reasons? Which is sort of why I think threads ultimately fails against twitter, as he seems to be a defender of the centre.
