There's a little water bear atop that rock who's receiving a revelation from God.

"Thou art chosen, my good and faithful tardigrade, to go forth and multiply, filling the worlds with your progeny."

Sometime later, as part of a scientific experiment, the little tardigrade found itself aboard the first interstellar probe, bound for Proxima Centauri. Thus began the history of our race, here on this new world.
