BlueWallet is a joke lol

Go look at their codebase, it’s a disaster 

 Not a dev, I cannot interpret code. Can you elaborate a bit on why you think that? 

 It’s messy, way more complicated than most wallets of similar class, just poor software engineering in general. 

They couldn’t even add basic bip47 support correctly (receive only, and doesn’t support paynyms at all) 

 Yup, they lost a good chunk of users. 
Is there an alternative with tor?

 Tor has never work for me with BlueWallet, it was at best slowing down a lot, at worst completely freezing the app.

Still if you use it to connect to your own node and do Lightning, and/or watch only on-chain, that's still a pretty good app with few alternatives. It's the perfect app to do uncle jim bank and host lightning wallets for the family and close friends, and you setup access on their phone with BlueWallet.

For connecting your own node and use lightning, the only better alternative is Zeus and for on-chain maybe the best stay Samourai (using own node and dojo server) but both are more complicated to use.
