Same as playing the lottery. Also, just because it's a solo miner, doesn't mean it's not a farm with huge hash power. Every serious Bitcoiner should home mine, but most should join a pool like @OCEAN Bitaxe is a great piece of kit for home mining.
I have 8 miners, but don't want to play lottery & mine on my own. I'm in F2 Pool, which gets me steady yield on daily basis. I hope Ordinals & Runes transactions will go much higher from today's levels. That will increase the transaction fees to overcome reduced block subsidies after the halving.
