Are you talking about the west or the global south?
 everywhere
Mmmmm I am from Zambia 🇿🇲
For most Zambians they are looking for a hedge against inflation. So bitcoin as a store makes more sense almost all the time than stablecoins.

But this is from my frame of reference.
I would guess a lot of people would be more comfortable holding what they perceive to be USD instead of BTC (even though over a long enough timeframe that logic is flawed).

depends quite a bit on timeframe, tho

is bitcoin already largely understood by most citizens in Zambia?
True on that part, quite a good number of people have dollar accounts with their banks for saving. But they generally don’t trust stablecoins, but when bitcoin is explained and it’s nature as a better store of value, it kind of makes sense to most.

We have emerging communities learning about it and also my friends.
Are there ways other bitcoiners could contribute to this kind of education?

I hear a lot of people talk about “global south” use-cases, but I suspect most people who say that phrase have no on-the-ground touchpoints/contacts.
I am a team member of a circular economy @bitcoinvictoriafalls in Zambia which started early this year.

Any form of contribution is welcome from sats to book donations or recommendations to make teaching easier. We also have a geyser fund set up.
I've been to Zambia for white water rafting on the Zambese. Beautiful place. Wish I could have spent more time.
White water rafting is amazing. Always welcome to visit again, plus now you can pay in bitcoin if you wish
I will be coming back for sure when my son is a little older and can do the trek. There was quite a bit of hiking to get down to the start of rafting. Top of Victoria Falls was also heavenly. Mind boggling the amount of water that flows over every second.
