@d203437d it is an opinion piece though, but I get where it is coming from. Many of these requirements are not business choices, as they are legal requirements to prevent money laundering and fraud.

Most general businesses are not asking for ID. It is banks, SIM card sellers and now charities (for income tax refunds) where it is mandated by law (no choice for them).

The post I did was a company attempting to make providing an ID a bit safer, and help prevent it being used for identity theft.
