Totally agree, I only started learning when I left education and started asking questions.


You do need to teach a basic common framework like language and basic numeracy.

It would be hard to test and set exams, but as we all know, the more effective something is, the harder it is to achieve and the more work is required behind the scenes.

AI and Robots could make this more achievable in the future.
 

 Agreed. That common framework for me was the first half that I mentioned (US school). I was already reading and comprehending at a college level by then and could learn anything I wanted. I obviously don't speak for everyone. Just using examples that applied to me. 

 I have considered exploring a digital version built on Nostr. It's quite a task though. Certainly one that would require many minds coming together.
