I’d be interested to know whether the roadmap includes further buildout of nostr NIPs to include things like quoted notes and images in the “comment” UI.
Also love to hear about Fountain’s process for adding new creators: outbound marketing to podcasters and artists, how do they introduce a precoiner pod to Bitcoin, wallets, Lightning, etc. (ie how do they take advantage of a unique opportunity to orange-pill influential voices), and how do you promote a podcasting app/platform to podcasters (and listeners) who are perfectly content with Apple or Spotify?
Like @merryoscar says around 54:30, this comment on a podcast is shared with the entire nostr ecosystem. That’s significant for podcasters, it’s significant for nostr, and it’s significant for the future of digital communication.
This isn’t even my primary nsec: @fountain_app kindly generated this keypair for me after a couple years of using Fountain (and nearly the same amount of time using nostr).
We’re literally doing it. And it’s working…

Yo Peter, great (new) show. A quick nostr/zap tip: start reading your largest Fountain boosts aloud.
Listeners love getting included in Podcasting 2.0 shows, and it’s a pretty effective way to increase the zap amount (and resulting BFF donation pool).

PS: this is a baller episode. I’m sure I’m not the only one who would love more Nostr content. Nostr is perfectly aligned with the spirit of your show — the most exciting freedom tech since Bitcoin.
Beyond just the notes, the “other stuff” is wild: zap.stream, fountain, Wavlake (music!), Flare (“YouTube”), Comingle (“meetup”), Coracle (everything), Habla.news (blogs), zap.cooking (recipes)… the list goes on.
Your pod would be a great platform to feed Nostr adoption, and you’ll find some brilliant guests among the Nostr community 🤙
Your description of people as little whirlwinds of particles that are shared and exchanged when we interact is spot-on. Call it data, energy, quantum particles, whatever, it’s very legit. It sounds like you integrated that experience nicely too (which is rare - it’s easy to look back on it as “just the drugs” rather than letting it inform your worldview).
What’s cool is you don’t have to be in physical proximity to the person. So when you publish a podcast, you and your listeners are also treated to a bit of this exchange of energy. It’s quite cool to experience this and be aware of it happening in the moment (🙋♂️hey there) even without the drugs. That’s kind of the point, after all, isn’t it. I think it was Ram Dass who said, “once you’ve gotten the message, you can hang up the phone”. So while my days of, shall we say, “induced” psychedelic experiences are behind me, I continue to appreciate these planes of consciousness that aren’t usually available to the conditioned mind.
Thank you for today’s exchange of energy - it’s an honor and a pleasure to share. “Namasté” and all that 🙏

Woof. I picked this episode with excitement, hoping for some insightful education on Monero privacy and freedom tech.
Instead I got a grossly over-generalized rant about “Bitcoin people” from someone who appears to get all his Bitcoin news from shitcoiners and completely misunderstands what bitcoiners are about.
The first fifty minutes lacked any actual informative technical content about Monero itself. Just an argument that Bitcoin is over because “BlackRock is here, but where’s the pump?” Utter noise, zero signal. That’s an hour of my day I can’t get back. Disappointing.

The Nostr integration is the coolest thing to happen to an existing mobile app 🔥

PS: @merryoscar will you be able to add note quotes? It seems that when I try to use the at-symbol before my noteID here, I’m only permitted to tag a user (not a note) because the Reply button is unavailable until I either tag a user or delete the *at* character.
We’ll see when I hit Reply if the noteID renders here as a quote, I guess. Bet it will render in another client. STILL SO COOL.
Hm, on Fountain my note shows a long gray block where you might expect the quoted note. On Damus it’s just the text of the Note ID (maybe I had to start with “note”?

Sorry-not-sorry if this breaks the reply UI. Just kicking some tires while it’s early enough to break stuff 🫡
LOL that the Apple podcast link is appearing on the comment section of my fountain podcast app I mean nostr social feed I mean v4v Lightning wallet I mean whatever I love Nostr. And podcasts.
Also, Will, that’s f’in crazy. Thanks for the recommended listen 🤙
