Pelican Glide

This is a soft focused image of a American White Pelican (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos) that I was while crossing the Calcasieu Ship Channel in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The crossing is via a ferry.

I've had several inquiries about how to get a print of some my photographs. This is a hobby for me, so I haven't been equipped to handle those requests.  But I enjoy what I'm doing and want to share my photographs.

 Buddies

Here are a sanderling (Calidris alba) and a ruddy turnstone (Arenaria interpres), seemingly working together to comb the beach for prey that the tide has washed onto the beach.

It is Independence Day in the USA. It is a day of barbeques and fireworks. I have a nice grill, but I haven't really used it in a long time. Interesting story, I went through considerable trouble to get the grill a few years ago, I had big plans for the grill. Soon after I purchased the grill, my doctor decided that I shouldn't eat meat ... what!  Well, I went full on vegan for a while, it did completely take though, my plumbing didn't work right. Humans are Omnivores after all. So, I settled into a routine of eating mostly vegetables and minimal amounts of animal protein, avoiding red meat. I'm not certain why red meat is bad, but she's the doc.
