 @9ac07000 haha! Back in the early 90s when propofol first widely hit hospitals it was expensive and (I’m told) often locked in the DD cupboard. It would have to be signed out!

So there were lots of different things done to make a little propofol go further, like mixing it with thiopentone so (I guess) you could use it with that other greater anaesthetic advancement of the early 90s … the LMA! 🤪 
 Propofol and thiopentone are physiochemically compatible when mixed.
