There is a lot of reasons to love Mastodon and the Fediverse. One of them is the lack of algorithmic content. It does take a bit longer to get going and build up content providers, but not having a feed full of crap is all worth it!
It is time to invite more of your friends to join us. Invite to your current server or you can invite them to Vivaldi Social! Help them get going. They will thank you!

@0d6c6ac4 says it so well...
Interesting to see #Microsoft complain about #Google misusing market power. Must be like looking in the mirror.
I am not saying there is no merit to the comments. Far from it. I just wish Microsoft would do something about their own bad behavior.
How about making it easy to set browsers as default? How about stopping with the dark patterns? How about respecting user choice? How about stopping the FUD?

@032d87f2 , I cannot go into the details of the agreements, but in general, if you use the included search engines, except for Google, we get paid. If you do not use the included search engines, then we do not make anything.
@a170577c , we do provide APKs from our website. You can find the link on this page:

Glad you like Vivaldi and I agree with you that one must be careful.
@e3b2b5d7@a61fc147 , that is a really good article. I hope you enjoy Vivaldi! We even have the first Vivaldia game built in! Different type, but IMHO fun.
@fa1803a8@a61fc147 , the first version will stay. Every browser has a built in game. You would expect ours to be an order of magnitude more fun than the other. 😀
I do hope you enjoy it. I finished the first one a long time ago. The 2nd one is harder. Particularly the bosses...
@a170577c@cbff34d4 , you can actually run Vivaldi on Android TV, but currently through using an APK. Usability wise, I would recommend a remote with a full keyboard at this time.
We do take every device we make Vivaldi available for very seriously.
It started with Windows, Mac and Linux, with Android thereafter.
We made sure Vivaldi would run well on the @a4e7c0dc.
We have also added Android Automotive and here we continue to be alone, almost 2 years after the first launch.
Soon we will be coming to iOS.
@fa85905f@a61fc147, it is the same across all our platforms, but there is a difference between regions. In most cases, Bing will make us the most. Generally you can select any of the included search engines, except Google, and we will be making at least something.
Big news today: @a61fc147 on the #Android #Automotive #Google #Play store.
So far we have been available on select #Polestar, #Renault, #Mercedes-Benz and #Audi cars, with more #VW group vehicles coming up soon.
Now we are expanding to all those cars having Android Automotive with the Google Play store. This includes Polestar and Renault, but also Volvo, with more coming soon. Given all those #Volvo owners that have been asking for Vivaldi, it will be there soon!

@08280e08@a61fc147 , the initial switch is easy enough. Clearly if you want to make the most of Vivaldi, there will be more to learn. That, to me, is a good thing and I believe that is what users end up liking. The fact that we have useful stuff in there to use.
@527c3522@a61fc147 , just to be clear, we want to be there as well and we are discussing how to do that. We wish there was a way to do that without this hack.
Mozilla does things in a different way, so that is not comparable.
@527c3522@c5617c66@a61fc147 , I have forwarded this to the team, but I think the point is that it replaces the Chromium sandbox with the Flatpak sandbox.
Note that none of the major browsers, as far as I understand, have official builds on Flatpak. I guess this is the reason.
We are still discussing what to do, but this is our concern.
@527c3522@c5617c66@a61fc147
"Allows you to run Chromium based applications that require a sandbox in a Flatpak environment, by using LD_PRELOAD magic and a redirection system that redirects Chromium's sandbox to use the Flatpak sandbox. "
So the point is that it replaces the Chromium sandbox with the Flatpak sandbox. We would rather be able to continue to use the Chromium sandbox.

@c5617c66@527c3522@a61fc147 , what my understanding is, is that to have this work, we have to disable the Chromium sandbox. That is what others have done. Would be better to not have to do that.
@527c3522@a61fc147 , the concern we have had and still have is in relation to the Sandbox. The Flatpak Sandbox and the Chrome Sandbox cannot co-exist it seems. That is unfortunate and I wish there was a way around it.
@04d1d143 , so are you saying that there should not be alternative browsers?
Our experience is that Webkit makes things like tracker blocker and ad blockers a lot harder to implement, so overall I think you can expect better privacy through alternative browsers, but clearly that depends on the vendor.
