 Thanks Cody, Freedom One does seem to be back up & running. You can check out Fedimint Observer (https://observer.fedimint.org/) for information on existing public federations. We are also consistently working to add greater transparency within the app, with online/offline status indicators coming soon.

Yes, a user of Mint A can send bitcoin to a user of Mint B via Lightning just the same way you would between any two Lightning-enabled wallets.

We believe the underlying technology is there and very powerful - but we understand it’s not yet simple and easy to use.

This creates an accessibility barrier that requires significant UX improvement to overcome so that Fedimint can scale.

 Hey, yes - Fedi is building an interface that empowers individuals & communities to engage with underlying freedom protocols like Fedimint & Nostr. Community federations are federated eCash mints. Anyone can create their own federation or use an existing public one. Right now, chat member ID's are based on npubs, and you can add Nostr clients as Fedi mods in the app. Greater interoperability with Nostr is on our roadmap. 

 Hey there 👋 - You can see public community federations available to join in the app by tapping the menu at the top left of the Community screen > Add community > View public communities.

Bitcoinmints and Awesome Fedimint are other resources that list publicly known Fedimint federations and Cashu mints:
