 Siemens enhances NX software with AI, cloud & immersive tools
==========

Siemens has introduced several new features to its NX software, including immersive collaboration, electro-mechanical workflows, and AI-enabled design tools. The updates, part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, include the introduction of NX X, a cloud-based product engineering solution that offers built-in data management based on the Teamcenter portfolio for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). NX X supports desktop installation or browser streaming via Amazon Web Services (AWS) and enhances PLM capabilities with Teamcenter X software. Another notable update is the release of NX Immersive Explorer, designed to provide a gaming-level experience for design reviews, virtual commissioning, and stakeholder sign-off. AI capabilities have also been integrated into NX, including enhancements in topology optimization, Performance Predictor, and gyroid modeling. The updates extend to NX CAM and NX Additive Manufacturing to improve workflow productivity and user control. The enhancements also encompass the electrical and semiconductor industry, with the new Managed Environment for Electronics Design integrating NX, Capital, Xpedition, and Teamcenter for seamless data flow and collaboration between electronic and mechanical design teams. Additionally, NX for BIM now offers a comprehensive set of Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools to improve efficiency in architecture, engineering, and construction workflows.

 Kyutai unveils Moshi AI with groundbreaking vocal abilities
==========

Kyutai, a non-profit organization, has unveiled its latest development, Moshi AI, in Paris. The AI model, developed by a team of eight researchers in just six months, has unprecedented vocal capabilities. Moshi demonstrated its ability to communicate in a smooth, natural, and expressive manner during a public presentation. The AI model's potential applications include coaching, companionship, and roleplay character incarnations. Moshi's interactive demo will be available online from the Kyutai website, making it the world's first generative voice AI. The model is designed to be compact and can be installed locally on devices, ensuring safe operation without an internet connection. Kyutai plans to make Moshi openly accessible by sharing the code and weights of the model, benefiting researchers and developers working on voice-based products and services. Moshi's capabilities are particularly relevant to applications involving speech in the digital world, such as virtual assistants, educational tools, and therapeutic applications. Kyutai intends to continue its dedication to open research in AI and expand its research to include multimodality. The organization aims to launch its first PhD theses by the end of the year and create general-purpose AI models with high capabilities.
