The Lord calls us to worship him on his day, and this Lord's day we are happy to welcome Pastor Todd Smith to fill our pulpit.

Hear the call to worship, from Psalm 134

"Come, bless the LORD, all you servants of the LORD,
who stand by night in the house of the LORD!
Lift up your hands to the holy place
and bless the LORD!

"May the LORD bless you from Zion,
he who made heaven and earth!"
 #Biblestr
It is the Lord's Day! We hope you all enjoy this day of worship of our glorious God and sweet fellowship with his people!

Today's call to worship:

‭Psalm 96:1-3
Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!
 #Biblestr
It is the Lord's Day! We hope you all are enjoying this day of rest and worship of the Triune God!
We do not "invite Jesus" into his own house. It is our Lord who calls us to worship him on his day. Hear his call to worship:

Psalm 100
Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

 Christian Bitcoiners,

How does the admonition against the love of money relate to #Bitcoin?

#Biblestr #AskNostr
No fog machines or rock concerts here.

Just the Church of Christ worshiping their God, hearing from his Word, and fellowshipping with one another.

#Biblestr #RegulativePrinciple
If you had all the #money in the world and everyone else had nothing

How would you feel?

#Weed...
Money requires a network effect to have value. If only one person had all of it, it would be worthless.
 What is the gospel?

#AskNostr #Biblestr
The goal of the gospel is not you at all, but rather the glory of God. You are simply a means to that end.
I may have overstated the matter.

It would be better said that the primary or ultimate goal of the gospel is not you at all, but the glory of God, and you are a means to that end.

The main point is that God is not an idolator. He does not worship and serve the creature rather than the creator. His primary purpose of doing anything he does is not us, but his own glory.
The Reformed Christian's answer to the question, "What is the purpose of life?":

Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.
That's the beautiful thing about the Reformed answer; it is thoroughly Biblical.

Glorify God:

"All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name." - Psalm 86:9

"For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen." - Romans 11:36

"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." - 1 Corinthians 10:31

"Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created." - Revelation 4:11

Enjoy him forever:

"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." - Psalm 16:11

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice." - Philippians 4:4

"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.'” - Revelation 21:3 & 4
Yes, but only as an extension of enjoying him. To the extent that we enjoy his creation without reference to the creator is the same extent that we engage in idolatry by, "worshiping and serving the creature rather than the creator" (Romans 1:25).
Also note that it is man's CHIEF end or purpose, not his ONLY end or purpose. Enjoying what God has created is not our chief purpose, but is penultimate to glorifying and enjoying God himself, and flows from it by necessary consequence.
The Lord has called His people to worship on His day. Here is his call to worship from Psalm 98.

‭Psalm 98:1-9 ESV‬
[1] Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. [2] The Lord has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations. [3] He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. [4] Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises! [5] Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody! [6] With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord! [7] Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who dwell in it! [8] Let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills sing for joy together [9] before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.

God's Law commands us to neither steal from or lie to our neighbor.

Why, then, should God's people tolerate being forced to use a money that both lies and steals from all who use it, except those with the exclusive privilege of printing it for free?

This is why we #Bitcoin
Love this perspective on the problem of evil from the late R.C. Sproul.

 ‭Romans 3:10 ESV‬
As it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one"

In short, yes.
Have hardly been here the last two days and I feel so disconnected and left out. 😢
Us Protestants who remember our history are BIG fans of free speech!
This past Lord's Day, our pulpit was filled by elder Kris, who continued his series of exhortations through Colossians in the morning, and Acts in the evening.

Are there any tools out there for posting to Nostr from an RSS feed?

Would like to be able to automatically post links to our sermons as soon as they are uploaded each week.

#AskNostr
That's handy, but I was looking for something to authorize an RSS feed to post to this npub, rather than having its own npub, which I would then need to manually share out.
 Hello #Nostr!

If there is any institution that should be interested in preserving free speech, particularly in parts of the world that actively seek to suppress the gospel of Jesus Christ, it ought to be the Church, and we haven't ever had a more effective tool for preserving that right in the public square than Nostr.

 Glad to be here!

But also have this npub on Amethyst and Alby extension set up to log into any web client.
Definitely appreciate that! Will let you know if anything comes up.
