The biggest scam in politics besides Trump is that Republicans care about religious freedom. They actually strenuously oppose it for anyone who is not a Christian.

Anyone can verify this by seeing how right wing judges completely disregard Indigenous religious cases https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2024/03/supreme-court-and-religion-judges-christianity.html

When you control that muc...
@ad39b1fd Yes I think that’s right. He wanted the control so he could promote his favorite horrible posters and candidates, by making them immune from fact checks.
The far-right Christian group that destroyed Roe v. Wade is now aiming to roll back birth control and LGBT rights.

Now that Robert F. Kennedy Jr, aka RFK, is openly talking about joining up with the libertarian party, Republicans are worried he will take votes from Donald Trump.

The Republican "rat fuck" operation to boost Kennedy appears to be turning into a "rat king" scenario.

@9d666d21 and I discussed on the most recent So This Just Happened episode.

Informative piece from CNN demonstrating that DOJ prosecutes members of both parties equally.

The other important point is that Trump pardoned the majority of recent Republicans convicted of felonies.

Trump is a one-man crime wave. That's not an opinion. https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/23/politics/bob-menendez-democrat-republican-what-matters/index.html
Donald Trump keeps promising to imprison journalists, execute political opponents, & turn the federal govt into his personal crony machine -- and yet the media cover him as just a regular, normal candidate.

@79c37f6a rightfully calls out the dangerous journalistic delusions https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/trump-milley-msnbc/
Trump gave a mumbling, slurred speech claiming he's concerned about "cognitively impaired" presidents while also claiming he'd prevent "World War 2."

He did it all while speaking over relaxation music designed to lull his audience via fascistic ASMR.

Evil people are often stupid, and it's their biggest advantage because it makes people not take their danger seriously.

The Republican party has become so extreme that willingly identifying with it makes you undateable as a young person.

Gen Z, particularly women, realized that the Republican party knowingly enables school shootings, wants to imprison trans people, and actively hates America.

Who would date someone w/those beliefs?

But Gen Z Republicans are told by right-wing media to blame anyone else except for themselves or their party.

So much for "personal responsibility."

Lots of interesting polling nuggets in this Change Research survey on Generation Z, particularly the politics of dating.

Older MAGA adults have no idea how crazy most people find their ideas, particularly young adults and teens.

Progressives need to keep working with straight young men though. https://www.teenvogue.com/story/young-women-voters-more-liberal-young-men-change-research-poll

Far right abortion opponents spent decades pushing a deceitful "pro-life" label (they were never pro- life for impoverished families with kids of any age).

Now that people are starting to see their radicalism after Dobbs v Jackson, the Christian right is trying to shift away from pro-life to something else: "pro baby." https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/republicans-try-find-new-term-life-stave-electoral-losses-rcna103924
