@12e2f193 lol, my mom hates all kinds of pie, but my dad loves pie, especially apple pie. So, after allegations came out that my mom can't make pie shortly after they married, my mom baked a perfect apple pie (she's not a cooking person) just to prove she could.
That was the first and last time she made pie. She told him to enjoy it because it wasn't happening again 😂
I do not like pecan pie. But apparently other people do, so I made pecan pie for Thanksgiving one year.
Following the directions from the recipe book, and muttering, "what? How much sugar? That can't be right." Flips page to make sure I'm looking at the right recipe. 👀 "Ok, this just looks wrong" pours and ungodly amount of sugar in, "ok, stirring and stirring, until it turns what color?" 👀 Adding pecans, "oh my God this smells terrible. I've definitely done it wrong, this can't be right."
Spouse walks in, "oh smells great!"
Me, sweaty, stressed, and flummoxed, "what?? Really??"
Spouse: I love pecan pie!
Me: that's why I made it. (Pulls pie out oven) but I think I fucked it up
Spouse: no no, it's supposed to look like that
Me: 🤨

Calling the doctor's office because my spouse can't get her meds a couple months ago:
Nurse: well she should have made an appointment
Me: she did? She was just there last month.
Nurse: well she didn't talk about that med. It's a controlled substance.
Me: I know that it is a controlled substance
Nurse: she'll just have to go without it for a week.
Me: ...
Nurse: there are no adverse side effects
Internally screaming, "then why is it prescribed, hmmm??? Do you tell the diabetic there are no adverse side effects to not having their meds for a week??? If there are no adverse side effects, why is it a controlled substance, hmmm????
Me: thank you for your time. Click.
