China has launched the first batch of satellites for a megaconstellation called the "Thousand Sails Constellation" or "G60 Starlink Plan" that is designed to rival SpaceX's Starlink network . The launch took place at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre in the northern province of Shanxi and was led by Shanghai Spacecom Satellite Technology (SSST)
